Safer Stays Principles

  • Protection for cleaners: Appropriate PPE equipment and training for cleaning staff to enable them to work safely and to appropriate guidelines.

  • Cleaned and sanitised: Using anti-viral disinfectant for all surfaces and high touch areas.

  • Increased cleaning time: Allowing extra time for additional cleaning during changeover.

  • Removal of non-essential items: Temporarily remove items, which are more difficult to keep clean and hygienic.

  • Reassurance given: Information to explain extra cleaning practices and where possible, hand sanitiser available to use.

  • Managing and reporting cases: Government guidelines followed to report and manage any potential or confirmed infection cases.

  • Hot Tub care: Cleaned, sanitised and checked daily to industry standards.

  • Safer check-in: New ways to check you in, from the use of key safes through to distanced check-ins and protective screens (where appropriate) for high footfall areas such as receptions.

  • Safer check-out: New ways to check you out, from providing a drop box for your keys on check-out or allowing guests to leave them in the accommodation at the end of stay.

  • Hygiene: Where facilities are shared, making hand sanitisation stations available at the entrances of such facilities or for key areas and/or protective screens where a high level of interaction is likely.

  • Social distancing: For shared facilities and areas where numerous guests could be present at one time, signage on site and markers on the floor requiring guests to follow government guidelines with respect to social distancing whilst on holiday.

  • Adapting facilities: Where restaurants are closed, replacing them with takeaway service to provide dining options to guests whilst on site. Putting in place appropriate queuing or one way systems for any open facilities.

  • Sanitisation of high footfall areas: Regular and frequent cleaning and disinfecting of high footfall areas, surfaces and high touch components.

Our Cleaning Commitment

We use a professional cleaning company to clean all of our lodges and their work is carried out to a very high standard, ensuring that everything is thoroughly cleaned.

They are paying extra close attention to clean all contact points including:

TV remotes, switches, sockets, door handles and hard surfaces which are all cleaned with medical grade antibacterial spray.

Crockery, cutlery, and utensils are cleaned on an intensive high heat wash between guests.

Our cleaners are ensuring they deep clean all areas which are known to gather germs on top of our already very high standard of routine changeover clean.

All fabrics will be steam cleaned between stays.

For peace of mind, although we provide all bedding, crockery, utensils and cutlery, we are happy for guests to bring their own if desired.

For your safety and peace of mind we will be removing any non essential items from our Lodges.

Hot Tubs

Taken from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Website:

“Can the COVID-19 virus spread through pools and hot tubs?
There is no evidence that COVID-19 can be spread to humans through the use of pools and hot tubs. Proper operation, maintenance, and disinfection (e.g., with chlorine and bromine) of pools and hot tubs should remove or inactivate the virus that causes COVID-19.”

Our hot tub policy at Swanborough Lakes:

  • All of our hot tubs are tested for chemicals and adjusted accordingly daily.

  • Our hot tubs are emptied, cleaned and refilled between every check out and   check in.

  • We use chlorine in all of our hot tubs and our staff members are fully trained in hot tub maintenance.

A member of staff will come round and check your hot tub every morning. They will make sure to thoroughly clean the clips on the hot tub lid afterwards.
